The 50 Day challenge began on Easter, 25 days ago.

TODAY marks the halfway point of the 50 Day Challenge.

Be encouraged as we join together to Live Simply – Give Generously – and  Change Lives, both here and in Uganda.

From you: I am.. spring cleaning, hosting garage sales, packing lunch instead of eating out, drinking water from the tap (not bottled), making rice and beans for dinner, and more….  All to save at least $1 a day, to put towards wells in Uganda.

You can read a few personal stories from the 50 day challenge  here.  Additionally, the Fibonacci Faith blog features “Water Wednesdays.”

If you haven’t downloaded the free Spilling Hope music compilation, some fantastic artists such as Rosie Thomas, The Republic and others donated songs for the cause.  Share it with friends!

For those living in the Seattle area, join us for a Water Walk this coming Sunday!
Gather Sunday afternoon April 25 3pm – 4:45pm at Bethany Community Church for a guided walk down to Green Lake! Rain or shine. Meet outside by Stone Way (or if raining, inside the main sanctuary building lobby.)

The walk will simulate a path taken by those living in Ntungamo area in Uganda. You will learn about the unhealthy sources of drinking water that exist and how Spilling Hope works with Living Water International for providing clean water, along with health and hygiene training.

Invite friends, and neighbors. This is a great community event. Walk away more informed!

  • Campaign Kicks Off

    04.06.10 | Permalink | Comment?

Spilling Hope 2010 kicked off this past Sunday.  Lives were changed last year both in our local communities and across the world in Africa.  We have the opportunity to do it again and invite you to join!

The challenge begins: to live simply so that we can give generously to change lives. For the next 50 days leading up to to Water Sunday, May 23, figure out how you can save at least $1 a day.  All proceeds will go toward building more wells in Uganda to provide clean water and sanitation to those without access.

Living simply is more than raising money. Get involved. Attend an event. Invite your neighbor to join you. Begin to grasp the fact that almost half of the world – over 3 billion people – live  on less than a few dollars a day.

There are many ways to live simple.

Live simply. Give Generously. Change lives.
