The large community of Murambi located more remotely than many of the other communities actively interacted in all the training and teachings. Upon arrival in Murambi, the community had just buried two young brothers who died of an unknown disease. The prevalence of child mortality was quite high in this community, and the health and hygiene training team addressed this. In an effort to combat the high amount of death, many community members sought care from a witch doctor.

The streams and rivers nearby used for water were also used for bathing and even defecation. The new well will bring clean water to this community of over 1200 children and 500 adults. The hygiene committee which formed is excited to take back what they had learned to the others in their community to start bringing about healthy lifestyle changes to promote better health. Praise be to God for the gift this water, training, and teaching brought to Murambi.

Mary Tukahairwa shared on behalf of the community about the Biblical training from Living Water. “I have like it and it has touched me. We have truly not been following up with new believers.. We are going to start doing this and we will truly do the work!” The community asks for continued prayer for this community’s safety, and wisdom to turn away from the witch doctor to Jesus for their hope and healing.
